Asking me to pic which outfit was my favorite from my eco fashion parade last week at Brisbane BMW…is like asking me to name my favorite child
However this one I’m particularly proud of…She’s like a hybrid of a military muse, wartime warrior, chic 20’s starlet and stylish bookworm. My kind of fashion soldier…sourced, customised and styled by me with My Salvos Stores gear
I love anything military, so when I found these authentic vintage medals and chains in one of the Brissy My Salvos Stores I knew I would do something special with them
The Vintage khaki jacket and velvet skirt really stood out too, then I set about adding texture and contrast with a striped long sleeve vest, black sequin beanie and leather belt placed just so
I hand stitched the medals and chains on the front pocket of the jacketIt was the bustle on the back of this skirt that really caught my eye…I mean how devine!
The Haute Monster helped me give it a more modern edge by gathering it at the front as a contrast
I even found a vintage book to work in – inspired by Charlotte Olympia and her clever accessories creations
I cut the clasp off an old necklace and hand stitched it onto the shoulder with a vintage medal from the 60’s to create a military epaulette feel
And so my fashion soldier was born
