Ex Boyfriend Jeans

April 21st, 2013 | no comments

Emotional? Sad? Newly Single? Get the agression out and distress the sh*t out of an old pair of jeans and be #totes on trend. Don’t worry, a boyfriend is not essential for the boyfriend jean look – that’s why we’ve named these ones the ex boyfriend jeans. A super easy DIY that I did for Channel 9 Mornings (which was a super exciting day for me PS!)

Welcome to the Battalion of the Brave! Bought to life again from my designing archives.

Now I love myself a vintage army shirt…but I thought I’d make this one, picked up from Uncle Sam’s in NYC even more battle worthy with some feathered epaulets. Engineered by yours truly and using second hand materials.

They took me quite a while these little guys but I think it was worth the effort, especially for shaking a (shoulder) feather down at Bondi. Fashion gives you wings.

Fashion Hound customisingIf there’s two things I dig in the world it’s converse wheels and wonderful quotes. So when I bought these black leather bad boys in NYC I thought… why not customise them with some cool anecdotes to make the journey even sweeter.

It’s the easiest DIY in the world

1. Buy the wheels 2. Whip into an art store and grab a pen that can be used on fabric 3. Write away

Our feet do all the walking but why can’t they do some of the talking as well!

Tie Dye For

I dig a bit of DIY – so I thought I’d show you how to make a Tie Dye tee using bleach. Rather than that rancid rainbow tie dye look, my version creates really yummy earthy tie dye tones. I used a black cotton tee that I picked up from a charity store in Notting Hill for a pound (make sure you use 100% cotton otherwise the bleach won’t take very well if at all)

Check out the How to Video for all the DIY details.

Peace out Hippy hounds x
