What would Bowie do?

DavidLightning never strikes twice… unless it’s clad in lurex and luscious nods to gender bending and mind broadening androgyny may I lustfully argue.

What would Bowie do?

He would wear the pants and the womans dress too…that’s what David would do. I Fashion Hounded a girl when I first started this blog and that was her style ethos. Everytime she was unsure of what to wear, as an epic Bowie fan, she would ask herself this very pertinent style question.

David’s influence upon the fashion masses is unparalleled, the concept that he created a cultural change is certain. Bowie made it becoming to merge the genders and dance with both sides of the male female spectrum. Viva la camp!

Indeed the essence of camp is its love of the unnatural, of artifice and exaggeration‘.  Susan Sontag is well versed on the subject and offers a stunning insight in her ‘Notes on Camp’ . Its play time, promiscuous expression, a potent desire to indulge in a devil may care aesthetic. Bowie gave us the green light to go for it, to fly our fashion freak flag with beautiful abandon.

Sprinkles of Ziggys stardust are still very eminent in modern fashionmusic and pop culture and the blurred girl/boy boundaries continue in Bowies new clip starring femiman Andrej Pejic

Fashion Hound We can be heroes. It is and always will be about being an individual and that’s why without a dandy clad doubt this guy is so fly. Why not grab both genders by the proverbials and be like Bowie.

‘I don’t know where I’m going from here but I promise it won’t be boring’ Bowie
