Military is a reocurring muse for me…its a must have for instant chic and street cred. It gives you an edge, a toughness without being unapproachable…it’s says I’m ready and I totally didn’t try, yep I’m just naturally this cool! I love this color palatte, Khaki is such a great base to work with acting as a neutral that you can add to and play with. High/low, pretty/poor boy, grunge/luxe…this style dichotomy has been strong on the catwalks this season particularly with Dsquared and Rodarte – I can’t even cope with how much I dig the vibe of these collections. Worn in Khaki pants with suit jackets and sparkles, Soldier inspired coats with couture gowns…so cool.

A khaki lightweight mini trench like this is a great go to piece, particularly as we head towards fall. I found mine at the Salvation Army for $15 – check out your local second hand haven if they know whats good for them they’ll stock them! I’m loving it with my black levi’s, white tee and embellished clutch [all found thrifting] but can’t wait to try it over a gown with some glitz. Have already started recreating the Dsquared and Rodarte aesthetic with my thriftiness…stand by for more inspo.

Green is the new black…and I don’t mean just to wear 😉
